Monica joined the Hocky Group through the NYU Simons Undergraduate Research Program in the summer 2024, where she investigated the unbinding of vinculin from actin using coarse grained molecular dynamics. She is an undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Boulder pursuing a Chemistry major and Biochemistry minor. At her home institution, she is a UROP fellow researching in the Montoya-Castillo Group and is focused on developing an efficient way to quantify drug disruption of the Amyloid Beta misfolding.
